Skopje, the capital of Macedonia. Here you can visit the mother Theresa house, the vodno hill and of course the old city centre.
Bitola
When visiting Bitola don't hesitate to stop at Heraklea, the ancient griek ruines next to Bitola. Also nice to visit is the big market of Bitola!
Struga
Just a short drive away is the lovely Struga, also known as the Venice of Macedonia. Through Struga runs the river Drim, which comes straight from lake Ohrid. You can shop here, or enjoy a nice lunch on the waterside.

National parks
Galicica
The national park Galicica is right on lake Ohrid. Via many villages you can enjoy a hike or a drive through the nature and spot the lake views.
Mavrovo
National park Mavrovo is the biggest national park in Mavrovo. Not only are you surrounded by mountains, there are many monasteries to discover.
Galicica - Magaro
Want something a bit higher? magaro is the highest peak in the Macedonian area of Ohrid. Halfway through your hike you can spot not only Ohrid lake, but also the Prespa lake. This hike is not too difficult, but make sure you have the right gear with you!
Tourist locations
St.Naum
Across the lake lies the monastery of St.Naum. not only can you find one of the most divine monasteries of macedonija here, you can also take a little boat trip on the source of the lake; the black drim springs.
Vevchani
A natural waterfall, with water coming straight from mountains. All can be found in Vevchani!
Albania
Right after St.Naum you can make a stop in Albania. Shopping is very cheap here and the fish is delicious!
Canyons and Lakes
Matka Canyon
Visit Canyon Matka just outside of Skopje. Take a boattrip thorugh the canyon and have a visit at the vrelo cave.
Ohrid Lake
Churches are Ohrid's speciality, but there are other churches to be seen. The cave churches all around the lake make for an adventurous day.
Prespa Lake
On the Prespa lake you can find the only island in Macedonia, Golem Grad. You will also find a lot of snakes and pelicans on this beautiful lake.
